This is how I make a globe ornament from maple and walnut. I am still working on my spindle skills but the only way to improve is by doing. Ash Yarn bowl. This yarn bowl was made by hand from a tree salvaged after hurricane Sandy from eastern Connecticut. I really enjoy bring new life to a piece of wood that would have been burnt or brought to the dump. Making a functional piece is an additional plus to this salvaged piece.
